We are going to the Merry Christmas Party and are considering the dessert party too to get prime fireworks viewing. Do we really have to show up for desserts 90min before the fireworks? It seems like we will miss the 8:30 parade if we do dessert party.

    Hi, there!

Nicole, I'm so happy to hear you'll be attending Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party this week. It's the jolliest way to celebrate the holiday season at the Walt Disney World Resort!

My family and I just went to this special event last week. We loved experiencing our favorite attractions (with little to no wait!), watching Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade (I watched it twice!), and filling our bellies with complimentary cookies and beverages (the eggnog is so yummy!).

My absolute favorite part of our evening was watching the brand-new fireworks show, Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks. I'm not exaggerating when I tell you that the finale had me tearing up! The Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party with Plaza Garden Viewing is the best way to guarantee prime viewing of this special offering at Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party. Guests with dessert party reservations are advised to check-in at Tomorrowland Terrace Restaurant for the dessert party 90-minutes prior to showtime so that they can take advantage of this premium experience, but certainly are not required to check-in that early. I would recommend arriving that early, though, so you can maximize your reservation. If it means you miss the first parade, you can catch the second!

If you really want to see the first performance of Mickey's Once Upon a Christmastime Parade, I suggest skipping the dessert party. My family watched the 8:30 PM parade in Liberty Square and then we hopped on one of our favorite attractions. About 15-minutes before Minnie's Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks, we crossed the bridge from Fantasyland to Main Street, U.S.A. and easily found an incredible viewing spot right in front of Cinderella Castle. We even attended Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party on a sold-out night! I still can't believe what a perfect view we had of this exclusive show. It made for the best photos!

I hope this was helpful, Nicole. I'm wishing you a fa-la-la-la-fabulous visit to the Walt Disney World Resort!
