We will be going on a Very Merry Christmas Cruise in 2020. We will be traveling with my parents and my brother and his family. How can we make sure we are all near each other on the ship and get the same dinner seating, etc? Do we have to book together?

    Hi there, Toni!

Ahoy and welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!  I am thrilled to “sea” that you are planning a Disney Cruise Line vacation for your group!   I was finally able to convince (it really wasn’t that hard…) my parents and my sister’s family to join us on a voyage this past Spring and we had an incredible time!  There is something for everyone onboard a Disney Cruise Line ship which ensures that everyone has a magical adventure.  From Youth Clubs for the kiddos to adult-exclusive venues and everything in between, it will be a vacation none of you will forget!

I would recommend that once your itinerary and travel date is chosen you explore the available staterooms online.  You can do this by selecting a voyage and stateroom category that you are looking for.  Then you can each book independently online with the selected staterooms OR you can contact Disney Cruise Line at (800) 951-3532 and a Cast Member can walk you through it ensuring that you get staterooms together as well as the same dinner seating.  If one person is making this call make sure that individual has the necessary information for all Guests traveling (birthdays, addresses) to make it easy for all.  Then, after the vacation is booked and you have created a Disney Cruise Line account, you can link all the reservations together using the reservation number for each stateroom.  Linking the reservations will allow everyone to see one another’s plans and even allow one person to book all the onboard fun for the entire group.  Additionally, when you link the reservations, your dining will also be linked so you will be placed at the same table for dinner (unless you prefer not to be).

While the reservations do not need to be booked at the same time, doing so will ensure that the staterooms you want are available as they are on a first come basis.  So, booking simultaneously or on the phone is best, if at all possible.

Hopefully this information helps guide you in planning your family’s Disney Cruise Line vacation.  Once you get your reservations made, please come back so we can help make this a magical voyage for all!  Remember, planning is only half the fun…once you step onboard, the real fun begins and doesn’t end!
