Welcome to planDisney, Lauren! Your magical vacation will be here before you know it! With so much to see and do at the parks,
fall is the perfect time to visit! Be sure to take some time to sample the delights of the
EPCOT International Food and Wine Festival and check out the fun Halloween decorations and treats at the parks and resorts!
Lauren, if your sister in law currently has an account that is managed by another guest, there are a few options I can offer. If she is at least 13 years old, she can create her own
My Disney Experience account and merge her managed account with this new account so that she has ownership. When these accounts merge, any existing plans connected to the managed account, as well as any MagicBands, will transfer over to her newly created account. To complete this process, she will need to create her account first and then have her mom follow these steps:
- Log in to your My Disney Experience mobile app
- Click the three horizontal lines at the bottom right-hand side of the screen
- Click on "Profile"
- Select "Family & Friends List" and find the managed account
- Select "Send Email" and enter the email address used to create the new account to send an invitation to transfer ownership
Once her mom completes these steps, she should receive an invitation to accept; once she does, she will take over her managed account and merge all plans. After this is complete, you can connect as Family & Friends to plan together!
If your sister in law is not yet 13 years old, you'll need to
connect to her managed account through her mom; to do this, click on your Family and Friends List, and then click the "+ Add a Guest" option at the bottom. From here, select "Find through my connected Guests" and search for your sister in law's name. An invitation to connect will be sent to her mom, and once she accepts, you'll be able to add her to your plans!
