Hi Kristin,
Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! It sounds like you may have the Disney Dining Plan. I trust that you will love this plan and I am quite happy that you are pre-planning your dining!
First, I suggest that you make sure the restaurant accepts the
Disney Dining Plans. If you have not done so already, just go to the website of the restaurants you plan to enjoy and then click on "Some Dining Plans Accepted" if that link is available. Make sure the restaurant accepts the dining plan you have.
To know what exact items count as snack credits on a dining plan, we have just asked when we arrived to the restaurant. As long as it counts as a snack entitlement, it will be deducted from your dining plan as a snack. Some snacks do seem more substantial than others but, as a general rule, dining plan snacks are a single serving.
Prior to our trips, I always map out our dining to be sure that we do not run out of meal entitlements before the last day of our trip. Remember that meal and snack entitlements are calculated per night of stay. So, if you are on the Disney Dining Plan and staying for six nights, each person in your party 3-years old and over would get 12 total meal entitlements (six quick-service and six table-service) plus 12 snack entitlements and a resort refillable mug. We typically use one meal entitlement for dinner on the day we arrive, one quick-service entitlement on the day we leave and the rest of the entitlements (including snacks) on the days in between.
Kristin, I am sending pixie dust your way as you make your dining plans!
Magic, memories and Minnie Mouse hugs,
Donyell
