Hi Frederick,
Memory Maker is magical! We had family vacation in Walt Disney World in August. I purchased
Memory Maker before our trip and we came home with over 300 photos and several attraction videos. You find a Disney PhotoPass photographer, have them take your photo, then touch your MagicBand to their device. You will be able to view, share, print, and download your photos.
One of the differences with Memory Maker is it is an all digital service. You can purchase a DVD with your photos but it is not included. You can download your photos in high resolution. We downloaded our photos and then shared them via online services and by putting the photos on a flash drive.
Once you download your first photo, you have thirty days to take more photos in all of the theme parks and some of the resorts. You are correct that in order to receive the advance purchase discount on Memory Maker, you need to make your purchase at least three days before your trip.
The My Disney Experience app had a great update recently. You can now find Disney PhotoPass photographer locations and view your photos from the app!
Thanks for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Be sure to let us know if you have any other questions!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H
