How does memory maker work? We’re making our first trip to disney world and we’re wondering if it is worth purchasing. Our trip starts July 1st but we want to know if someone actually takes your photos? Does it happen randomly or you ask them to?

Hi Karla! With your Walt Disney World Resort vacation a few short days away, I'm sure you are putting the finishing touches on your vacation plans. I'm so glad you asked about Memory Maker! From another question you asked, I see that you have a 2 and 6 year old. I HIGHLY recommend Memory Maker for any Guest, but especially those with younger kiddos. Magical memories of your vacation will be captured in photos!

Aside from the magical moments captured by the talented Disney PhotoPass Photographers, Memory Maker also includes Animated Magic Shots and attraction videos from The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. The PhotoPass Photographers are positioned throughout Walt Disney World Resort in strategic areas where the views are practically perfect in every way. If you would like to have your picture taken, you approach them. Once they have taken your picture, they will scan your MagicBand so your photos can be uploaded to your Memory Maker. There are also PhotoPass Photographers with most Disney Characters so you can capture the magic and fun when your kiddos are meeting them.

Following your vacation, your videos and photos can be downloaded for 45 days. Once they expire, they can no longer be purchased or downloaded. We typically wait a day or two after we return home before downloading our photos to make sure all of our photos are available.

We have photo books from trips we took 10 years ago that are falling apart because we look at them so often. It's no nice to share memories with our kiddos from their 1st trips to Walt Disney World Resort. It's pure magic and I'm so grateful to have the treasured memories captured in photos.

Thanks so much for sharing your question with the Disney Parks Moms Panel. Please let me know if you need any further information. Have a great time at Walt Disney World Resort and enjoy every magical moment!
