Hi Raegan,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel! I'm waving hello across our great state of North Carolina! We have traveled to the Walt Disney World Resort with a large party several times. It just makes good sense to save money where you can and we also chose to share
Memory Maker in order to save a bit. It worked like an absolute dream but there was a hiccup or two. I hope I can help you avoid those.
The main task you need to have completed if you are planning to share Memory Maker within a larger party is to be absolutely certain everyone is connected through My Disney Experience as Family & Friends. The next step is to be sure everyone has given permission to share
Disney PhotoPass Photos. During one vacation an older member of our group didn't realize they had to grant permission to share the Photos. Fortunately, that was an issue that was easily solved.
During one vacation we only confirmed that the adults in our group were connected via
My Disney Experience. We didn't worry as much about the children in the group and there were several children. Do you know how children love to be the one to push the button for an elevator? In the same manner, we have found that children love to have their MagicBand scanned by the Disney PhotoPass Photographer. When we were in a rush, we would let one child have their MagicBand scanned and we would be on our way to our next attraction. We realized we were missing some photos and the problem was we were not all connected as Family & Friends. With the help of a Disney PhotoPass Cast Member, we were able to locate and retrieve our missing photos. I do suggest you check your photos before you leave the Walt Disney World Resort. At home, I have had to work with a Cast Member over the phone to find some missing photos and it was just so much easier to do in person.
My last piece of advice is for you to choose who has the Memory Maker entitlement carefully. Only that one person can download and share the photos. You will want someone who is willing and able to download and share quickly and efficiently.
Raegan, thank you for visiting us with your question. At the end of your vacation, I hope you have more photos than you know what to do with!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Amy H.
