Memory maker, photopass and magic band. Do I need all three, or only one? What are the differences, benefits, similiarities? Trying to decide If I need one or any. Do I buy one that includes everyone in my reservation, or do we purchase separate?

Welcome back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Ashley! Planning ahead for a Walt Disney World vacation with Disney Memory Maker is a great idea. I love this service and use it on almost every visit.

Memory Maker is a great way to enjoy a digital download all of your Disney PhotoPass photos. You may purchase it in advance at a discount, which is what I do. After your trip, you'll be able to download all of your photo memories in the parks. This includes all photos taken by a Disney PhotoPass Photographer, attraction photos and in some cases video when you are wearing your MagicBand.

To explain the terms a bit more, think of PhotoPass as your collection of photos and Memory Maker as the key to unlocking them. You may purchase single photos if you wish, but in my experience Memory Maker is a far better deal, especially if you buy it in advance.

If you decide to purchase Memory Maker, you only need one. Make sure each member of your party is connected in the My Family & Friends section of your My Disney Experience account so everyone's photos are included. You are not required to have a MagicBand to use Memory Maker, but some attraction photos and video do rely on it to capture your memories so I recommend having one. And if you decide to split up, you'll want to make sure everyone can have their photos added with their MagicBands. If you are staying in a Disney Resort Hotel, everyone in your party will receive a complimentary MagicBand. You may also purchase them at many locations throughout the parks.
