Does memory maker expire? Meaning, I bought it, but did not activate it. Will it be good in 9months for me to activate when we go back?

    Hiya Amy,

Welcome to planDisney! First off, I love your planning style! I always like to plan all the details of my vacations to Walt Disney World Resort far in advance, so hat’s off (or should I say Mickey Ears off) to you.

I love having Memory Maker for my vacations, especially now that I’m a mom. Photos of my daughter’s first meeting with Mickey Mouse or getting a warm hug from Olaf makes my vacation more memorable. From past experience, I know that if you have purchased a standard Memory Maker at the advanced price, you must first wait at least three days after it is purchased for it to be activated. So basically, any photos taken in that three-day waiting period are not included in Memory Maker. I also know that the window begins at 12:00 AM EST on the day you download or unlock your Disney PhotoPass photo. With that being said, I’ll admit I wasn’t 100% sure if there was a maximum date from which you could start your 30-day window. Luckily my new friend Dax, a fantastic Cast Member, was able to help teach me something new and help me with your question. Great news, Amy, your Memory Maker will still be good in nine months for you to activate and use for that trip (provided you don’t activate it before that vacation)! Just don’t forget that once you begin your 30-day window, you must download all photos before their expiration date; otherwise, just like Fairy Godmother’s magic, they will disappear.

Before I let you go, Amy, I hope you consider reserving a Capture Your Moment photo session during your visit. It is a great way to get memorable photos taken of you and your family to commemorate your trip together. I was lucky enough to do a Capture Your Moment session at Magic Kingdom Park for my pregnancy reveal, and the photos are some of my most prized possessions. Best of all, with Memory Maker (which I had for the day), I could download all the photos after the session and have some of my favorites printed to hang in my daughter’s nursery. You can have sessions at any of the four Theme Parks depending on your family’s preferences, and they make great holiday cards, living room art, or just Instagram-worthy posts.

Please come back and see us if you need anything else!

    Happy Planning,
