we are going to be there for a memorial for my father who is one of the origianal workers for walt disney I have photos of them building disney along with my great uncle and great grandfather so I am wondering if there is a standby list for the blue bayou

    Hello, Marysue!

It's so wonderful to meet you, thanks for your question! How lovely that your family has such a long history of being part of the magic at Disneyland Park. I hope you will be able to soak up all the pixie dust in the air and celebrate your father with joy, knowing how many people are benefiting from his work!

Celebrating our loved ones is always extra special at Disneyland Park. The Blue Bayou is a beautiful spot for a quiet meal to share memories! It's also very popular, so getting a reservation can be quite difficult. While you should definitely keep checking before your visit to see if a reservation opens up, there is sometimes a mobile walk-up list available.

To join the mobile walk-up list you'll need to download the Disneyland Mobile App or visit the Blue Bayou itself to scan the QR code near the entrance. I like to use the app best. In the app, go to the map and select "Dining" from the menu at the top. Scroll over to tap on the Blue Bayou and then tap "Join Walk-Up List" to see if it's open. If you have trouble you're welcome to stop by the host stand at the restaurant and ask for help. You won't be able to join the list if you're too far away, so I recommend checking first thing in the morning (perhaps while you wait in line for Pirates of the Caribbean, aye?) so you don't miss your chance!

While you're in the park I highly recommend taking some time to enjoy the atmosphere and history on Main Street, U.S.A., and visit The Disneyland Story presenting Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln. There is some particularly wonderful Disneyland Park memorabilia on display! The Disney Gallery is also very nearby with some special exhibits for the Disney100 Celebration. For an extra-special visit, you might also like Walt's Main Street Story Tour which dives deep into the history of the park. The best part? That tour includes a visit to Walt's personal apartment! I can personally say that seeing the apartment is one of the most lovely things I've been able to do in the parks. For your family, with your history of magical contributors, I think this tour would be a hit!

Marysue, I'm sending pixie dust your way in the hope that you'll be able to dine in the bayou and have a completely wonderful visit to the parks. Let me know if I can help you with anything else!

    Keep moving forward!
