    Hi! We are members of the DVC and own at Bay Lake Tower. Recently, we received an offer to purchase more points, and receive some free, at the Animal Kingdom Resort. Can you own at more than one resort? If so, how does that affect point usage?

    Hello, Carolyn!

    This is a great question! In short, the answer is YES!

    We currently own at three Disney Vacation Club resorts; we did so in order to gain the Home Resort advantage of the 11 month window at more than one resort. We currently own at Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort (Treehouse Villas advantage! Walking distance to Downtown Disney's great restaurants!), Bay Lake Tower at Disney's Contemporary Resort (Theme Park view of 4th of July firework spectacular!) and Disney's Animal Kingdom Resort (Grand Villa / Savannah View for a multi-generational trip with animal lovers galore!) Basically, you can purchase DVC Membership at many of the DVC resorts, which is especially helpful if you feel that you'd like to have a "home court advantage" at more than one location.

    Keep in mind that you can still use your Membership points at any of the DVC properties, as well as any other properties and exchanges (such as Disney Cruise Line) regardless of which home resort to which they are linked. Points are points, with the only difference being that 11 month booking advantage versus the 7 month window for Members using points at non-home resort DVC properties. Should you wish to exchange those points, say, for a DCL cruise, you may use any of them, regardless of which resort, as early as 2 years in advance!
