A member of our party uses a wheelchair but can transfer. Can he ride ROTR and do we take the w/c through the queue?

Hello there, Jaynee! Greetings from everyone here at planDisney! Welcome back to the magic and thank you for allowing us to help you plan another magical visit to Walt Disney World Resort!

Are you ready for a day filled with adventures in a galaxy far, far away? At Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Guests have the opportunity to live their own galactic experiences as they travel to the planet of Batuu and investigate the Black Spire Outpost. You can look forward to unique dining opportunities, engaging entertainment, and curious shopping experiences during your visit. Best of all, you can choose to either pilot the Millennium Falcon on Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run or join the Resistance as they fight against the First Order on Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance

I am happy to share that there should be no problems with experiencing Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance as long as the Guest can transfer. During my own experience, I was able to use my personal wheelchair throughout the queue and in certain portions of the attraction. Once it was time to board the attraction vehicle, I was able to transfer and then received my wheelchair at the exit area. If he has any trouble standing or walking short distances, I highly recommend remaining seated in his wheelchair throughout the attraction queue. There is quite a bit of movement and waiting involved so it can get exhausting fairly quickly!

If you haven’t already done so, I also recommend checking out the “Services for Guests with Mobility Disabilities” webpage as well! There is a great list of attractions that describes the level of accessibility for most attractions you will find in the parks. However, if you have any specific questions about accessibility or need personal experience accounts, don’t hesitate to reach back out! We’re always happy to provide information to those who need it!

I hope you have a wonderful time exploring Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge during your upcoming vacation to Walt Disney World Resort! ’Til the Spire!
