Hi Robert,
Thanks for plugging into planDisney. Our
Walt Disney World Resort Vacation Planning Checklist highlights many of the technical components involved in experiencing the magic. Practice creates confidence, so let's establish who will be leading with confidence during your trip.
Each person in your traveling party over the age of three requires valid admission, a
theme park reservation for each park day, and a
method of entry (MagicBand, MagicBand+, Disney MagicMobile pass, or admission card) to enter a theme park. These vacation entitlements are housed in a person's
My Disney Experience account or account profile. Each person with a My Disney Experience account should have the
My Disney Experience mobile app downloaded to their mobile device for use during their park days. Let me tell you why.
A person's method of entry is also used to tap in at
Lightning Lane entrances. Of the three methods of entry I mentioned, two require a mobile device.
MagicBand+ designs must be linked to a My Disney Experience account, paired to a mobile device, and fully charged before use. Additionally, only the My Disney Experience account owner can use their My Disney Experience mobile app to download their own
Disney MagicMobile pass.
Those whose My Disney Experience account profiles are managed by others rely on the account holder's mobile device to access their vacation entitlements. My children do not have phones and I manage all of their plans. My parents have phones but do not have My Disney Experience accounts so I manage all of their plans, as well. I have all of their Disney MagicMobile passes downloaded to my Apple Wallet and their MagicBand+ and admission cards are linked to their profiles under my account.
Even with multiple phones in your party, Robert, one person can be in charge of purchasing Disney Genie+ service and booking Lightning Lane attractions for the group as long as you are connected as
Family & Friends in My Disney Experience. My husband and I take turns booking Genie+ Lighting Lane attractions for my family throughout the day. Our children enjoy borrowing our phones to look up attraction wait times and use the Disney PhotoPass Lenses.
I hope this answer has given you the confidence to ask more questions, Robert.
You've got a friend in me.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
