I have a member of our party who is afraid of drops (did Tower of Terror and almost died of fright) but really wants to do Rise of the Resistance. I hear there is a drop near the end. How intense is it? Is there just one?

    Hello, Jack!

Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel!

Before we get to your question, let me ask: Are we traveling together? Because I'm pretty sure it's me you're describing in your question! I've been frightened of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror since I was eight years old, and I start sweating just by getting close to the building.

I had the exact same fear when I walked into Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance at the Disneyland Resort last month. I knew there was a drop, and it kept me anxious for the whole length of the experience. After leaving the attraction, I took a deep breath and thought: "It's not a big drop, and I want to do it again!"

The drop is not intense, and it does not give you a "free falling" feeling like the one you experience at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror. Actually, the mechanism at The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror pushes you down to make the drop seem faster, so Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance cannot be compared to that, thankfully!

The drop at Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance feels more like the soft drops you experience at Star Tours: The Adventures Continue. It's at the very end of the attraction, and it didn't scare me. I enjoyed this attraction with two young friends who were seven and nine years old, and they did not find it scary, either.

I hope that my experience helps you talk to your fellow traveler to discuss their fears. It could be a good idea to enjoy Star Tours: The Adventures Continue as soon as you arrive at Disney's Hollywood Studios so that they feel comfortable enjoying a similar attraction later in the day.

If you have more questions before you hit hyperdrive, please, don't hesitate to come back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel. We're here to help!

May the Force and the magic be with you,
