Hi Fred! Thanks for bringing your question to planDisney.
What a big undertaking. I bet you're excited about all the fun of the Holidays at the Disneyland Resort with your extended family. What a perfect time to visit! I love a big group trip to the parks. It makes for great memories that will last a lifetime.
It can also introduce a few wrinkles. Sometimes life gets in the way and we're not able to follow through with our vacation plans. I know how disappointing that can be. My family has experienced similar disappointments.
I do have some good news for you. While
admission tickets are nonrefundable, they retain their value so long as they are wholly unused. Since your family member won't be able to join in on the fun this time, his ticket can be used on another visit. If the ticket hasn't expired, you'll simply need to make new theme park reservations for the ticket. If it has expired, you'll apply the original purchase price of the ticket towards the purchase of a new ticket and make new theme park reservations.
We recently used tickets from a trip that had to be canceled. It's the best way to get over the disappointment of missing out on the magic. I hope your family member can make new plans soon. There will be so many fun things coming to the parks in 2024. Follow the
Disney Parks Blog for all the official news. I'm sure there will be something magical--like the Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival to tempt him to make new plans.
I hope this helps!
Elizabeth
