Hello there, Lorena!
You’ll be visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during one of my favorite times of the year. Between the cooler Florida temperatures and typically lower crowds, February is a wonderful time to visit the theme parks. The dates haven’t been announced yet, but typically, the
EPCOT International Festival of the Arts takes place around this time, and I love seeing all of the Disney-themed art around the World Showcase. I recommend that you stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog to see when they officially announce the dates to see if it aligns with your trip.
Lorena, I’m happy to share that there are no weight limits posted for attractions at the theme parks; however, some rides may be more comfortable than others. For instance, a friend of mine wasn’t able to ride
Avatar Flight of Passage in
Pandora - The World of Avatar at
Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park because they have calves the size of Gaston’s. Based on the similar ride configuration, I expect this could also pose an issue on the
TRON Lightcycle / Run presented by Enterprise. Lorena, if your family member can’t fit comfortably in the regular bike-style seat, TRON Lightcycle / Run has a few adaptive seats with a more traditional upright position and lap bar. Luckily, Avatar Flight of Passage and TRON Lightcycle / Run have test seats outside of the attractions that your family member can try out to see if they’ll be comfortable.
I have a few more tips to help your family member have a comfortable visit. First, ask the Cast Members at certain attractions if they can sit in the front to have more legroom or have a row to themselves. These tips may come in handy on attractions, like
Space Mountain or
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at Magic Kingdom Park and
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. I hope these tips help you and your family have a fun-filled vacation.
May the magic be with you!Melanie
