Susan from CA Asked Please note that experiences, policies, pricing and other offerings are subject to change and may have changed since the date of this answer.

A member of our cruise party requires a heating pad for chronic pain. Can a USB powered heating pad be brought on board? We are sailing the Magic.

    Welcome aboard, Susan!

Thank you for bringing your important question our way as you finalize plans for your upcoming Disney Cruise Line vacation! There’s absolutely nothing like it between the incredible service, delicious foods, Broadway-caliber entertainment, and beautiful ports of call; I know you’ll have an amazing time together.

I confirmed with a friendly Crew Member today that heating pads are on the list of prohibited items, and due to it being a safety concern there are no exceptions even if for medical support. I know this is disappointing, but please know these policies are in place for the unique aspects of cruise travel and for everyone’s safety to limit risks with electronic items onboard these vessels.

There are several ways to feel the relaxing, soothing warmth of heat therapy onboard the beautiful Disney Magic. Within Senses Spa, there is a special place called the Rainforest Room, with access available for an additional fee. This dedicated space for water therapy and ultimate relaxation for all your senses includes a hamam (steam bath), a caldarium (hot steam room), laconium (dry sauna) and aromatherapy rain experiences. The Rainforest Room also has heated lounge chairs (my absolute favorite) to lay upon and feel the soothing stone warmth as you relax; enjoy laying in silence to gentle spa sounds or bring your own headphones if you wish. Two whirlpool spas are on an open-air deck for soaking by the sea as part of this experience. You can purchase a pass for one day or for the length of your cruise by visiting the Senses Spa once you board the ship. I encourage you to visit quickly, as these popular experiences are limited and can sell out.

There are also whirlpools on deck 11 in both the adult-only and family areas near the pools, with no additional fee for use.

I hope your traveling party can find comfort in these therapeutic options onboard and that you enjoy the wonderful time together on your special cruise.

Please let us know if you have further questions as you get ready to sail away, Susan.

    Warm wishes,
    Amy
