Hi Melinda Thank you so much for your advice and tips. We are looking forward to seeing halloween at Disneyland. Coming from Australia it's not something we get to experience often. We are hoping to get tickets to Oogie Boogie. Any tips?

    Hi Corinne,

Welcome back! I am so happy to hear from you again! Last year was my first time going to the Oogie Boogie Bash. I went with my family and we had such a fun time dressing up and seeing the special characters. We had a game plan to help ensure that we got tickets to the Oogie Boogie bash. Luckily we were more coordinated than Lock, Shock and Barrel. Here are my tips to help give you a fighting chance of getting tickets.

    1) Keep an eye on announcements. Ticket sales for the event do not start on a fixed date, so we had to keep our eyes peeled for ticket sales announcements. The Disney Parks Blog is a great place for updates; check out their website or follow them @disneyparks on Instagram. I personally recommend that you also follow @disneyland on Instagram so that the news is less likely to get lost in your feed. Tickets are typically released in the summer, but the timeline could always change.

    2) Set an alarm! You don’t want to be late to join the online queue for ticket sales, so don’t channel your inner White Rabbit. Everyone in my family had multiple alarms and reminders set to ensure that we did not forget the release date and time. Considering that you are in Australia, you definitely want to set an alarm to account for the time zone difference.

    3) Use multiple devices and have multiple people attempting to purchase tickets. Purchasing tickets is a team event. All three  of us were attempting to secure our tickets. We each were on three different devices (tablet, phone, and computer). Once one of us was through, the rest of us exited out of the ticket queue.

While we don't know when tickets will go on sale in 2025, we do know the 2025 dates to the Oogie Boogie Bash. The first Bash takes place on August 17 and continues on select dates in August, September, and October. Thankfully, there are several dates around the time of your vacation. Another point in your favor is that Oogie Boogie Bash tickets tend to increase in price as we get closer and closer to October 31. This is all great news, as it increases your chances of getting tickets and the potential savings allow you to splurge on a souvenir (like an Oogie Boogie Bash spirit jersey, wink wink).

Special Event Tip: Typically, when you purchase a ticket for a special event, you get to enter the event 3 hours prior to the event starting. Hopefully that will continue. Use this information to help you in planning your park visits for that day.

I hope this was helpful advice, Corinne.  You are coming so far for this vacation, so don’t hesitate to ask more questions. I want to make sure you feel prepared so you can really get into the Halloween spirit when you arrive. If you have any other questions, need additional help, or would love more advice, please feel free to write back to me or my fellow panelist, and we would be happy to help.

    Wishing you a magical vacation!
