We’re meeting up with family and wondering if we book a table service for 6 people on 2 seperate reservations, all on DDP, can we leave our own tip or will it be automatically be 18% and come off one reservation? Many thanks :)

Welcome to planDisney, Victoria! How fun that you're planning to meet up with family for a Table Service meal at Walt Disney World. Dining together is such a magical way to slow down, share stories, and enjoy a seriously delicious meal.

So, here's how it works when it comes to gratuity and larger parties: the automatic 18% gratuity is based on the total table size, not how many people are on each check or how many reservations were made. If you're dining with a group of more than six guests total, even if the table is split across two separate reservations or checks, each check will have an 18% gratuity automatically added based on the number of guests actually sitting at the table.

In your case, if your party of six is dining all together at one table and you split the check between two groups using the Disney Dining Plan, each of those split checks will have its own 18% gratuity added based on what you ordered. So yes, gratuity will be automatically applied, and it won't come off just one reservation; it will be distributed accordingly.

Of course, if you receive exceptional service and want to leave a little extra magic for your Cast Member, you can always add more to the tip. It's totally up to you!

I hope this answers your question, Victoria, and please let us know if there's anything else we can do to help you plan your magical vacation.
