Hi there, Ronald! We are so happy you found your way to
planDisney. Only 10 more days and you'll be strolling your way down Main Street, U.S.A. towards Sleeping Beauty Castle! Imagine Walt himself taking those exact same steps, glance up at the windows along Main Street, note the Disney legends that have been honored for their place in the magic, and take it all in! Let the nostalgia and history settle in all around you!
I can see that you are from Florida and may be familiar with the Most Magical Place on Earth, the
Walt Disney World Resort! While there are some similarities, the Disneyland Resort and the
Disneyland Mobile App function a bit differently. When syncing plans with fellow Guests, Disneyland currently does not offer the same Friends and Family functionality. While you won't see a "Friends and Family" section within your account or app, you can link tickets between each other so that you can make
Lightning Lane selections all together with one tap. This will allow everyone to see upcoming Lightning Lane selections or secured spots in virtual queues. The one thing that will not appear for everyone is any shared dining reservations. Those will only be visible in the account for the Guest who made the reservation. As a little workaround here, I like to send everyone a good, old virtual calendar invite with an alert 15 minutes ahead!
To link tickets, simply open up the app and tap the three-bar menu in the bottom right-hand corner. From here, select "Tickets and Passes" and tap the "+" in the top right-hand corner. You should see a drop-down that allows you to "Link Tickets & Passes". Once you tap in there, you can simply scan the barcode from another Guest's phone or manually enter the ticket confirmation number. Then you should be all set! If you navigate to your "My Genie Day and Tip Board" and toggle to"My Day", that's where you will see any upcoming plans!
Currently, the only experience that is using the virtual queue is
World of Color, the nighttime spectacular at Disney California Adventure Park! This show is not to be missed - it is classic Disney storytelling brought to life through water, projections, and music! The virtual queue opens at noon each day via the app, and spots go quickly so you will want to be ready! You should see "Disneyland Virtual Queue" right on the home screen. I recommend having it open a few minutes before noon and pulling down the page to refresh continuously until it opens up. You will need to have either scanned into Disney California Adventure Park with a One Park Per Day ticket or entered Disneyland Park with a Park Hopper Ticket for the virtual queue to be open to you. World of Color is visible from all around Paradise Park. If for some reason you aren't able to secure a spot in the virtual queue, you can still enjoy the show but you may have some obstructed viewing.
Ronald, so much magic awaits! If you have any more questions, you know where to find us here at planDisney!
