Hi Danielle! Thanks for reaching out to planDisney with your question.
Oh Prince Eric, what would we give to live where you are? What would we pay to stand right beside you? What would we do to see you smiling at us at a meet and greet or character dining experience? Danielle, I hear you, trust me!
The Little Mermaid has been my favorite movie since it came out in 1989 and now that the fabulous
live-action story is here, I want to meet our favorite prince more than ever! Alas, at this time, he is not meeting and greeting, but that will likely change as the spookiest and merriest times of the year get closer!
While a full list of characters has not yet been announced for
Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party and
Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party (both at
Magic Kingdom Park), Prince Eric can often be found greeting his royal subjects during these events alongside the mermaid love of his life, Ariel! While not guaranteed, I have my fins crossed that we'll see him and his beloved when these parties start. Be sure to stay tuned to the
Disney Parks Blog for any updates as these events get closer. And don't forget that you can see him in the
Under the Sea - Journey of The Little Mermaid attraction in Fantasyland and get some treats at
Prince Eric's Village Market too!
Speaking of Disney Parks Blog, I would also keep an eye out for any mention of character dining returning to
Trattoria al Forno on Disney's BoardWalk. This is an experience I personally am hoping comes back as I love this restaurant and it's not every day you get to eat with princesses
and their princes!
In the meantime, there are other princes that you can meet and see around the parks. You can usually find
Aladdin (fabulous he, Ali Ababwa) meeting Guests in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom Park. There are also usually a few princes waving to you (yes, you...no one else) during the
Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade at Magic Kingdom Park. And when I'm in that park, I always stop by to say hello to
Ariel herself and ask her how Prince Eric is doing. When I go this summer, I'm hoping to catch
Ariel from the new live-action story in
Disney's Hollywood Studios and ask her as well (she's meeting for a limited time).
Danielle, I don't know when, I don't know how, but I think we should start something right now. We're both going to wish upon a star, watch, and see if someday our dreamy Prince Eric will be part of our world again.
Please reach out again if you have any other questions!
Life the bubbles,
Matt
