Meet Ariel at her Grotto is temporarily unavailable.... our first Disney trip is planned for this July. Is there a time frame for this opening back up? If not is there somewhere else you can meet Ariel?

    Hello Brittany,

Thanks for stopping by planDisney with your question. Summer will be here before you know it and soon Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Disney's Hollywood Studios will be part of your world!

Maybe she's under the sea visiting Triton or off searching for new treasures to add to her collection, but no official date has been announced for Ariel to return to her Grotto to greet guests. The princesses haven't returned to Cinderella's Royal Table either. We're still waiting for Akershus Royal Banquet Hall in EPCOT to reopen as well. As character meet & greets start to return and our favorite restaurants start to reopen, it's possible that she'll be back in time for your visit, but there is no guarantee.

She does have her own float in the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, so you can wave to her. Under the Sea - Journey of the Little Mermaid is a whimsical journey through Ariel's story, and your favorite princess can be seen on screen in Mickey's PhilharMagic in Fantasyland too.

Hope this helps. Sending some virtual pixie dust your way and crossing my fingers that a visit with Ariel will be part of your magical vacation!

Meet the Panelist: Diane, Georgia

After spending 25 years in RI, my husband and I relocated to GA with our youngest, who is now in high school. I took my first trip to Walt Disney World when I was 11 and I have traveled many times since then with all different party sizes. From creating our first itinerary as a honeymooner to later creating magical experiences for our multigenerational family gatherings, every aspect of planning a vacation has been pure joy to me.  Learn More About Diane
