Disney's Magical Express

Will Mears Connect shuttles be decorated for Disney World and playing Disney clips inside? Or is it a normal, boring white bus?

Hey there, Crystal. Thanks for stopping by planDisney to ask your question.

I see that you are vacationing at Walt Disney World next year, that is so exciting! You guys are going to make memories to last a lifetime. Because your trip is next year, I'm guessing that you've heard that Disney's Magical Express is canceling its service to the Walt Disney World Resort starting at the beginning of the year. This has left a lot of Guests wondering how they will get to Walt Disney World from the Orlando airport. One option that I've been suggesting has been the Mears Connect Shuttles. Mears is actually the company that Walt Disney World contracts the Magical Express through so I am sure they will do a great job taking Guests back and forth. However, since it is an outside company, I can't say for sure what the shuttles will look like or the experience they will provide once on board. Shuttles don't begin until January 2022, so I don't have any reviews or any information to go off of just yet. I do know that the Mears Connect Shuttles are currently taking reservations so you could give them a call or reach out to them via email and ask for more information about what the actual shuttles are like there.

If you aren't interested in the Mears Connect Shuttles to get you over to Walt Disney World, you have a few other options. My personal favorite, even now with the Magical Express still running, is to use a ride-share service. Ride-share services are convenient and pretty affordable to take around the Walt Disney World resort. Both major companies service the area and are fairly comparable on pricing but I do like to check both apps before calling a car because sometimes there are special promotions or discounts. If you aren't comfortable with a ride-share service, you'll also find classic taxis waiting to take people anywhere around the Orlando area. They are also convenient as most are lined up and waiting but I do find them to be a little bit more expensive than a ride-share service. If those options aren't for you, you could always consider renting a car. Then, you'll have the flexibility to go where you want, when you want while on vacation.

I hope this helps point you in the right direction, Crystal. If you have any other questions, please feel free to stop back by and ask me. I'm happy to help. Happy planning!

Meet the Panelist: Jackie, North Carolina

I love all things Walt Disney World.  In fact, since becoming Annual Passholders, my family of 3 is always hopping in the car for a quick trip to visit with Mickey Mouse!  I've been known to make the 8 hour each way drive to Walt Disney World (in one day!) to indulge in a Mickey Waffle or enjoy a sunny day at Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.  I may have a small family, but we are always up for some BIG fun at the Walt Disney World Resort.   Learn More About Jackie
