Hi! What does it mean to upgrade WDW ticket to annual pass? Thanks!

    Hello EthelRose!

Welcome back to planDisney! Thanks for sending another great question our way. I'd be delighted to assist you today. Let's talk about Walt Disney World Annual Passes.

When I vacation at Walt Disney World, there's never enough time to experience everything in one trip. I always leave wanting more! No matter how frequently I visit, I'm never ready to say goodbye, and the best cure for the post-Disney blues is planning my next enchanting escape. Fortunately, with an Annual Pass, I can return to the theme parks as often as possible in one year, and another adventure is usually right around the corner.

Walt Disney World theme park tickets can be upgraded anytime before they expire to include more days or options. When viewing tickets on the My Disney Experience mobile app, you might see an option to "Change Ticket" or a message saying, "You may be eligible to apply the value of your ticket to an Annual Pass." This means you can subtract the amount paid for your ticket from the cost of an Annual Pass and then pay the remaining difference to complete the upgrade. Let's say, for example, you paid $400 for your theme park ticket, and the Disney Incredi-Pass costs $1000 (these are not actual prices, but I'm using easy numbers for demonstration purposes only). Before your ticket expires, you can upgrade it to a Disney Incredi-Pass by paying another $600. To do this in person while in Walt Disney World, visit a theme park ticketing window, Guest Relations, or the Disney Ticket Center at Disney Springs, and a Cast Member will assist you.

I hope this makes sense, EthelRose. I love being part of the Annual Passholder family. Every season brings something new to Walt Disney World, so visiting several times throughout the year is lovely. You'll enjoy fall decor during your October trip, holiday happenings in November and December, and special events like the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival in the spring. Annual Passholder discounts are often available for resort stays, dining, and merchandise. Best wishes for a year of memorable visits, and if there's anything else we at planDisney can do to make them even more magical, don't hesitate to reach out again. Thanks again for stopping by, and we look forward to welcoming you "home" soon!
