What does it mean to upgrade a military salute ticket to an annual pass? Are there cost savings with that upgrade?

    Hey there, Lina!

Welcome to planDisney, and thank you for your service. As a military spouse myself, I’m currently in the same boat. I’m tempted to upgrade my Military Salute promotional ticket to an annual pass. I recently spoke to a Cast Member about this option, so I’m happy to share what I learned.

Upgrading this ticket to an annual pass means applying the total cost of the ticket towards the cost of an Annual Pass. Depending on which ticket you purchased, you can use the amount you spent towards the purchase of an Annual Pass. For example, we purchased the 6-Day Military Salute ticket, so the $439 we spent on each ticket can go towards the purchase of an Annual Pass. I also learned that if you do this, your Annual Pass will backdate to the day you first used the Military Salute ticket. So in my case, I used my first day of my ticket in March. Since I still have days on my ticket, I can still choose to upgrade to an Annual Pass; however, my year will begin in March, even if I choose to upgrade now. So that is something to keep in mind when upgrading your Military Salute ticket.

I hope this helps answer your question about the upgrading process. I also wanted to share that this upgrade has to be done in person, so keep that in mind as well. You’ll just need to make sure you still have days remaining on your Military Salute ticket, and you’ll want to visit Guest Relations to complete this upgrade.

Lina, I do hope this answers your question, and I hope that you can upgrade to an Annual Pass. Just think of all the new memories you can make over the next year! I also noticed that you are a Florida resident, so if it’s an Annual Pass you’re after, I recommend also checking out the Florida resident offer! I’m sending all the Pixie Dust your way in hopes that soon you’ll be an Annual Passholder! Until then, please let us know if there’s anything else we can help with!

    Good luck,

    Shantel
