What does it mean to have Theme Park Reservations as well after purchasing the theme park tickets?

    Hi Gabriella!

We are so happy you found your way to planDisney with your question. We love planning Disneyland Resort vacations and helping fellow Guests navigate their way to the magic. It brings us a lot of joy to share our knowledge, tips, and tricks to ensure you have an unforgettable visit!

First things first, all Guests are required to have a theme park ticket and a valid theme park reservation to scan through the Main Entrance Gates. The good news is that if you purchased your theme park tickets through the Disneyland website, you likely made the theme park reservation as part of the checkout process. I know it can sound like this needs to be an extra step, but that is usually only the case if you purchased tickets through a third-party vendor or as part of a Disney Vacation Package. Essentially, your ticket gains you entrance to a park, and your reservation holds your spot for that day at a particular park—either Disneyland or California Adventure. If you have purchased a Park Hopper ticket, you would make a reservation for one park where you will start your day, and once the clock strikes 11:00 AM, you can hop between the two as much as you'd like!

Let's take a look to see if you already have theme park reservations. If you open up the Disneyland app and head to the three-line icon in the bottom right-hand corner, scroll to "Future Plans". Once you tap in here, you will see any upcoming theme park reservations or dining reservations associated with the theme park tickets in your account. If you don't see anything here, no problem! Head back to the three-line icon and tap "My Tickets & Passes". Underneath each one, you will see a pencil icon; tap here to "Change Ticket". Select the tickets you are hoping to make reservations for on the next screen, then scroll down to the Reservation Dates section and "Change Dates". Choose your date from the calendar, follow the instructions from there, and hopefully you will be all set!

Gabriella, I know that was a lot to take in, but once you are in the app, it will be much easier to navigate. If you have any questions about your tickets specifically, I'd recommend calling the Cast Members in Guest Services, as they are able to see into your account directly.

You are in for such a treat during your visit next week! Disneyland is celebrating its 70th Anniversary, and you can feel the joy throughout the parks with characters dressed in their birthday best, daytime entertainment, parades, and so many nighttime spectaculars that it may be hard to choose! One of the most celebratory moments is catching the Celebrate Happy Cavalcade strolling down Main Street twice daily. You'll get to wave to your favorite characters (including Duffy and ShellieMay making their Disneyland debut!) and dance along to the very catchy anniversary theme song! What I love most about this moment is the energy it brings to the park—everyone joins in on the party!

Gabriella, I hope this has been helpful! If you have any more questions, we are always happy to lend a friendly tip or two or three here at planDisney

    Magic awaits!
