How are meals paid for in the magic kingdom if I don't have a dining plan? Do I have an option to pay with cash or credit, or does everything go through my magic band to whatever credit card is on that?

    Hi Carol,

Thank you for visiting the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question.  There are several options to take care of the cheque anywhere at Walt Disney World Resort including Magic Kingdom Park, with or without one of the Disney Dining Plans.

Once you order your meal you will have the option to use cash, credit card, debit card, Disney Gift Card or MagicBand (if you have set up charging).  Personally, I like to purchase a Disney Gift Card when I arrive so that I do not have to worry about carrying cash while in the Theme Parks.  For me, it is also an easier way to keep track of my spending, because after each transaction, the Cast Member will give you a new total amount left on the Disney Gift Card.

If you would like, Mobile Food and Beverage Ordering is now available through the My Disney Experience App.  All you need to do is select "My Plans" and then "Order Food".  You will then be able to choose the Dining Location from where you would like to order and then the menu items as well.  This option allows payment by credit card, debit cards and Disney Dining Plans.  It is a quick and easy way to order your meal without having to wait in line!

I hope you have a magical time at Walt Disney World Resort, Carol.  Please let us know if you have any other questions, we are always happy to help.
