Hi Susan,
Welcome to the Disney Parks Moms Panel, and thank you for your question. I just got back from a fabulous trip to the Walt Disney World Resort, during which we used the Disney Dining Plan. It made our stay feel all-inclusive, and I really loved it!
I’m happy to confirm that the resort refillable mugs are included with the
Disney Dining Plan. You will not have to pay anything extra for the mugs, as they were included in the cost of the plan – simply pick them up at any resort Quick Service location and you will be able to refill them at beverage stations at resort Quick Service locations throughout your stay. The charge you heard about is for Guests who are not on the Disney Dining Plan, as they have the option to purchase the mugs for a flat fee and then refill them for their length of stay.
Since we’re talking about drinks on the Disney Dining Plan, I want to tell you how much I loved the 2018 Disney Dining Plan’s beverage options. With each Quick Service and Table Service meal, Guests may order an alcoholic beverage (for Guests over age 21 only) or a non-alcoholic drink such as a smoothie, milkshake, or other specialty beverage. Some exceptions do apply, so check with your server when ordering. (A funny example of this: I had been dreaming of the Lapu Lapu, which is a cocktail served in a pineapple at
Kona Cafe. I was charged an extra $5 to have it served in pineapple -
totally worth it.) I loved being able to have a green smoothie with my breakfast or lunch each day at the resort, and I tried some fabulous cocktails during my vacation. Be sure to take advantage of these drink options so you can squeeze every delicious drop out of your Disney Dining Plan!
Wishing you a magical vacation,
Robyn
