How much does the meal plan cost per person? Are my 11 & 10 year olds considered adults fro the meal plan? It seems like there a big difference in price for the adult plan vs kids plan when they are still so young?

    Hi Suzie,

My family loves the convenience and flexibility of the Disney Dining Plan and for most of our vacations we choose to include it as part of our Magic Your Way Vacation Package.  For the current year of 2015 the price for the standard Disney Dining Plan for ages 10+ is $60.64 per person per day (tax included).  For 2016 the price does rise slightly and the price for ages 10+ will be $61.84 per person per day (tax included).

When deciding if the Disney Dining Plan is right for your next vacation you should consider your family's vacation preferences.  If you plan on experiencing many Table-Service Character Meals, Buffet/Family Style Restaurants, or Dinner shows you will be charged per person and therefore your children will be charged in the 10+ category whether or not you are using the Disney Dining Plan or paying out of pocket.  In this situation the Disney Dining Plan can actually save you money.  However if you plan on doing more Quick-Service meals or dining at Table-Service locations which do not charge per Guest (and you plan on ordering light for your children) your cost could be considerably less by paying out of pocket rather than using the Disney Dining Plan.  To gauge which avenue is the best for your vacation plans I recommend viewing the Walt Disney World Restaurants and doing a price comparison between paying as you go for your meals and having the Disney Dining Plan.

Thank you for stopping by the Disney Parks Moms Panel with your question, please let us know if you have any further vacation planning questions.  We are always happy to help!
