Welcome back to planDisney, Andrea!
Like you, planDisney's excitement about your upcoming
Walt Disney World Resort vacation continues to grow with each thoughtful question you bring us. We love being a part of your jolly holidays and it would be a pleasure to provide you with some information about payment options in the
My Disney Experience mobile app.
As you discovered, the only payment options that are currently able to be stored in your My Disney Experience account are credit or debit cards. A stored card automagically appears as the default payment method when making an in-app purchase such as a Mobile Food and Beverage Order or a
Disney Genie+ purchase, which adds a level of convenience to your shopping experience.
Though a gift card's information cannot be housed in the My Disney Experience app, Andrea, it can still be used as payment for any in-app purchases. When making a
Mobile Food and Beverage Order, for example, after you click "Review Order Summary" and "Continue to Checkout," you will see an option to add a Disney Gift Card or Disney Rewards Redemption Card. You can use one of these cards per order together with a credit or debit card if need be. A similar process exists for making Disney Genie+ service and
Individual Lightning Lane purchases. For added convenience, I recommend saving your 16-digit gift card number as a note on your phone. This allows you to copy and paste the number for each purchase as opposed to entering it into the app manually.
Keep practicing that in-app thumb choreography, and please continue to planDisney.
Choose magic,
Jennifer
