Hi moms! We have MBYBBQ at 5:30 on a day where we are splitting up - half to AK and half to MK. What time should each of our groups leave to make it there on time? What's the best method from AK? thx!

    Howdy Byron!

You're going to have a heap of boot-scootin' fun and tasty vittles at Mickey's Backyard BBQ!  You'll also get to meet some of your favorite pals - Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Goofy and Chip 'n Dale - while you dance and dine.

Mickey's Backyard BBQ is held at The Campsites at Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and getting there from Magic Kingdom is a snap.  Just exit the park and head toward the boat docks.  Look for the boat heading to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground and take that over to your destination.  Boats run every 20 minutes or so, and once you're on board, the ride takes about 15 minutes, so I'd be on the dock at least 45-50 minutes before your reservation time.

Getting there from Disney's Animal Kingdom Theme Park is just as easy, but may take a few extra minutes.  When you exit the park, look for the bus heading to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, hop on board and take that to your dinner destination.  That bus ride is about 25 minutes, and again, I'd allow 20 minutes for a bus to arrive, just to be safe.  I'd give yourself at least an hour, maybe a little more, for that journey.

I hope that helps with your planning, Byron!  Wishing y'all a magical vacation!
