May I upgrade my Magic Key before my renewal window in order to spend summer vacation with my 3 nieces? Thanks you for your time.

    Hiya Mike!

Well, Hot Dog! It's great to hear from you and I'm so excited about your question! As an Imagine Magic Key holder myself, I completely understand how you're feeling. I'm always trying to find ways to make the most of my visits to the park. I often ask myself how I'll manage those pesky summer blockout dates, especially when planning an adventure with family and friends. And it's amazing that you're planning to spend summer vacation with your three nieces - nothing beats hanging out with family at the Happiest Place on Earth, so let’s figure this out together!

But don't you worry, Mike! If you're thinking about upgrading your pass, you can totally do that when it's time to renew. Just head over to www.disneyland.com/renew up to 30 days before it expires, and you'll have the option to switch to a different Magic Key level. Whether you want to unlock more perks or visit the parks on days with fewer blackout dates, upgrading is a great option for us Mouseketeers.

Now, as for upgrading your pass, you can certainly do that too. You’ll have to visit the friendly folks at the ticketing booths in person to upgrade to a pass that is available. As I'm writing this, it looks like the only pass available for purchase is the Inspire Magic Key. The Disneyland Resort did mention that they'll be offering more sales for Magic Key Passes throughout 2023 as they become available, but nobody can confirm whether that will happen before this summer. If you choose to upgrade to the Inspire pass, you’ll have to immediately pay the difference between your current pass and the Inspire, because payment plans are not available for upgrades.

And, Mike, don't forget: even if your pass is blocked out, there's still plenty of fun to be had at the Disneyland Resort. Exploring the Downtown Disney District and trying out some yummy treats with friends both in and out of town has always been a favorite pastime of mine. As Mickey and the gang would say, "Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!" There's always something to do, no matter the season! So let's put on our Mouse Ears and go make some magical memories with your family!

Thanks for stopping by the planDisney clubhouse, Mike! Don't hesitate to come back and visit me again if you have any more questions. I'm always here to lend a helping hand to my pals!

    See ya real soon!
