May I switch the name on one of my park passes from myself to another family member?

Hey there, Brett. A warm welcome from all of us at planDisney to you. It looks like a visit to the Disneyland Resort is in your near future (Hooray!) and I'm delighted to help you prepare for it.

One of the many things I love about Disneyland Resort theme park tickets (besides using them) is the flexibility that is built into them. If you are talking about a wholly unused theme park ticket that currently has your name on it, you can absolutely give it to a family member to use. The name on the ticket actually doesn't matter much but is helpful when it comes to organizing several tickets in the Disneyland app. Once the ticket is scanned at the entrance gate, the Cast Member will take a picture of the person who will be using the ticket which will then serve as the ticket holder's identification during use. I've done this several times where I forgot to change the name on the ticket to my husband's and we've had no issues.

On the other hand, if you are talking about a Magic Key pass, unfortunately, passes are nonrefundable and nontransferable and you would not be able to change the name on the pass. If you happen to be a resident of Southern California, there is a pretty fantastic Southern California Resident ticket offer currently available that you might be able to take advantage of. Be sure to carefully read all of the offer details to ensure you qualify for this ticket offer. Just remember that each person must reside within the qualifying zip codes to purchase and redeem this special ticket offer.

It looks like you will be visiting during the (dragon) tail end of the Lunar New Year Celebration at Disney California Adventure Park. I love this time of year and getting to sample all of the Asian-inspired dishes during the festivities. If you get a chance, don't forget to make your way back to Paradise Gardens where you can add your wish for the upcoming year to the Wishing Wall.

Well, Brett, it's a new year with lots of new and magical possibilities. I hope that the information I've shared has been helpful as you get ready for your visit. Here's wishing you a wonderful time at the Happiest Place on Earth!
