Hi Kelly, welcome to planDisney. September is a great time to visit, the nice crisp mornings start to roll in. And when I tell you I wholeheartedly understand the want to extend that trip just a tad bit longer. I get that feeling every single visit as we are taking our shoes off of our achy feet that last night, knowing that we had fun but back to reality you go.
Disney's Art of Animation Resort celebrates Disney and Pixar's magic and movies. These resorts resemble familiar landscapes to match some classic animations. If you would like to spend some more time in your resort you can ask the front desk of your resort to see if late checkout is available. If it is available it is complimentary until 1 p.m. If you would like your checkout to be later than 1 p.m. but up to 6 p.m. it is subject to a half-day room rate charge. Any late checkout after 6 p.m. is subject to a full-day rate charge. Prices are subject to change. Anytime I have asked for anything the cast members have always been more than accommodating and will usually do what they can to make sure your stay is a special one. The Art of Animation has a title no other resort can top. The largest resort pool in Walt Disney World is "The Big Blue Pool" and it holds 308,527 gallons of water! The "Finding Nemo" motif is a hit with young and young at heart.
A couple of great ways to spend that extra time before you check out is a quick pool splash or run back to
EPCOT for one last spin on
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind. Be sure to check your
My Disney Experience App at 7 a.m. and 1 p.m. sharp to get a chance to join a boarding group on the "Virtual Queue." Even something as simple as catching a few extra ZZZs. Either of these options is worthy of a late checkout.
I hope your visit feels extra long and that this information helped you figure out how to request that late checkout time. If you need any other planning advice you can always
ask me a question and I will be ready to help.
Have a magical day!
Jeremy A.
