Ahoy, K! Welcome back to planDisney! It looks like you might be planning a cross-country tour before you board the
Disney Wish. I’d be happy to help point your compass in the right direction.
I did some research, and it looks like Amtrak’s Silver Service Line makes its way near Port Canaveral, but there are no stops at the port. The three closest stops are Winter Park, Orlando, and Kissimmee. Keep in mind that once you pull into the station, you’ll still have about an hour’s drive to reach the ship. It might be easier to arrive the night before and pre-arrange a shuttle to take you to a hotel near the port. You can get a good night’s sleep and feel rested before you board the ship. Many hotels near the port offer complimentary shuttles you can take on the day of embarkation.
Another option is to take the train to Kissimmee and plan a few days at the
Walt Disney World Resort. There are a few rental car companies near the station, or you could always take an Uber or Lyft. Disney Cruise Line offers transportation from the Walt Disney World Resorts to the port for Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel.
Sometimes I find it’s easier to leave the
transportation options to Captain Minnie. Disney Cruise Line can arrange airfare from any destination, help with pre-cruise hotel stays, and safely get you to the port. A
Disney reservation specialist will be happy to untangle your travel plans so that it’s smooth sailing ahead for you and your crew.
I hope one of these options is perfect for you. If you have any additional questions as you prepare to sail on the Disney Wish, please stop by planDisney again. We can’t wait to help you make magical memories with Disney Cruise Line.
SEAS the adventure!
