This may be an odd question but would any of you know 1.) In what year was the first ever MNSSHP held? 2.) Was MK decorated in month of October as it is now in October before MNSSHP started being held? We're having a little family "discussion&quo

    Hi Cristina!

I love it!  How heated has this family discussion gotten...are there bets involved yet???  I won't lie, when I saw this question, I had absolutely no idea what the answer was!  Of course, my curiosity was peaked and 30 minutes worth of research later, I now know the year of the first ever Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party.  Waaaay back in 1997, the first annual MNSSHP was held and guests really had no idea what to expect, other than the traditional Disney magic.  Needless to say, everyone was blown away and the party continues to be a HUGE success!

This is my personal favorite special event at Walt Disney World and I honestly had no idea that it had been around so long.  As far as decorations, yes, Disney has always decorated for Fall/Halloween, but not to the extent that it does now.  Even today, many of the decorations and details are only up for guest to enjoy that actually attend the event.  Hope this helps!
