May need to postpone our trip. How long can they be postponed? Also, can we ostpone and split up a 5 day trip to 2 separate stays?

Hiya, Amy! Welcome to planDisney. I'm so glad you came to us with your question.

There is nothing more magical than planning a trip to Walt Disney World Resort. I love it when my visit is bibbidi bobbidi booked. Sometimes, something happens that changes when our wishes can be granted. I'm so sorry. But, the clock has not struck midnight and there is still time to make it to the ball!

You can modify your reservation by logging into your My Disney Experience account, going to "My Plans" and opening your Disney Resorts Collection reservation. Select "Change Reservation" and you will have the option to modify the dates, resort, travel party and room type. One thing to note: if you made the reservation with a special offer or discount, it will only be applied to the new reservation if that reservation also qualifies. The new reservation dates will be the current rates. On the other side, if there was no special offer with your reservation and there is with the new dates: Poof! A new wish is granted!

Since your planned stay in the magic is still months away and you want to split it into multiple shorter stays, you could might want to consider canceling. Currently, you can cancel resort-only reservations up to 5 days before your trip and packages 30 days before without penalty. If you are unsure of when you can board your pumpkin coach to the castle, this may be the better pathway. Canceling a stay feels a bit too final, but you know how easy and joyful it is to open the Walt Disney World webpage and start dreaming about which resort you will call home in the future.

I don't have a lovely wand like the Fairy Godmother, but I hope this information answers your questions and helps you make your dreams come true.

If you have any other questions, please come ask us at planDisney!

A dream is a wish your heart makes!
