We may need to postpone our trip due to COVID. What is the policy for park ticket reservations?

Hello there, Janet! Welcome to planDisney. I am so happy to see you here! Thank you so much for stopping by with your Disney vacation planning question.

It looks like you're planning to visit us here at the Walt Disney World Resort next month! Out of the 12 months in the year, February, September and December are by far my three favorites to plan a Disney vacation. The weather will most likely be WONDERFUL when you fly into Orlando, and all the special events happening around you will make you swoon! In fact, when you get here, you will be able to experience the last few days of the EPCOT International Festival of the Arts. This festival is filled with art, music, food and, of course, magic. On top of that, you will also be traveling to the Walt Disney World Resort right in the middle of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, during which you will be able to see all four park icons decked out for the occasion as Beacons of Magic, as well as 50 golden statues of your favorite Disney pals hidden throughout the theme parks. These are known here as the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection, and they are so fun to look at and take pictures with!

That being said, we are all currently living in very uncertain times, and sometimes plans need to change. But there's no need to panic, Janet! If, for any reason, you and your family need to reschedule your magical Disney vacation, your park tickets will stay valid for you to use in the future. All you need to do is change your ticket dates, which you may do through the My Disney Experience mobile app. In order for you to do that, you will need to follow these steps:

    1. Log into your Disney account through the My Disney Experience mobile app.
    2. Click on the three lines on the bottom right corner.
    3. Click on Tickets and Passes.
    4. Choose each ticket you'd like to change, and click on Change Ticket.
    5. After doing this, you will see a calendar pop up. You will need to pick a new start date for your tickets here.

If these steps don't work for you, Janet, I encourage you to speak to a friendly Cast Member at (407) 939-5277. That being said, I do have to let you know that you will only be able to change your ticket dates until midnight EST on the day before their original start date, so I wouldn't wait to do it if I were you!

Janet, I hope your vacation to the Walt Disney World Resort–whenever it may be–is everything you wish for and more. Please don't hesitate to come back and ask us any and all questions you might have!

    See you real soon,

    Ana Paula
