Hi Monica!
So excited to SEA that you and your family will be taking an adventure on the high seas to the
Bahamas. My favorite port of call has to be
Castaway Cay, and I'm sure it will be a big hit with your family, too!
The Castaway Cay 5k is a great way to get going early and making the most of your time on Disney's private island. You can register once your cruise is paid in full and your
advance booking window opens. While logged on to the Disney Cruise Line website, select your reservation and choose the Castaway Cay day. The 5K will be listed under the “Onboard Fun” tab. Alternatively, you can also register once you board the ship at
Guest Services.
So glad you also asked about what your toddler can do while onboard! My mind immediately goes to the water playgrounds and pools. The Disney Magic has the Nephews' Splash Zone for splashtastic fun. And don't miss the Castaway Cay equivalent, the Spring-a-Leak water play zone. If your kiddo is toilet trained, then the
Disney pools will be the perfect place to make a splash!
A Disney cruise would not be complete without some
character greetings sprinkled in! One that requires advance reservations is the Princess Gathering where Disney princesses show up for hugs, autographs, and photos. As this is a popular ticketed event, visit the "My Cruise Activities" tab online to make a reservation.
Finally, young sailors who are less than three years old can enjoy their time onboard in the
"it's a small world" nursery! Your toddler will be able to enjoy playtime, toys, games and Disney movies. Time in the nursery is available for an additional fee and is limited. So my suggestion is to
make reservations for your Mouseketeer to enjoy this space as soon as your advance booking window opens.
Run back to the Disney Parks Moms Panel if you need additional planning advice. Wishing you a MAGICal cruise!
Happy Sailing!
Sherry
