On May 17, the listed closing time for DHS is 10pm, but in the daily schedule Fantasmic is listed at 10:30 pm. How can this be?

    Hi Toni!

I absolutely love the Fantasmic! performance at Disney's Hollywood Studios.  I've experienced it dozens of times, yet I still get goosebumps with each performance I see.

Great question about the timing of the performance. During certain times of the year, they'll have two nightly performances of Fantasmic!.  While the rest of the park will be scheduled to close at 10:00 on the evening you mentioned, the hope will be to funnel guests into the Fantasmic! amphitheater for the second performance at 10:30.  That way, everyone can have enough time to make their way to the amphitheater from wherever they are in the park at closing time.

Even though the second performances typically aren't as crowded as the first ones, my advice would be to plan to arrive well in advance so you can snag great seats. (Maybe 45 minutes to an hour in advance.)

Here's a little tip from your buddy Derek:

If you don't have to hurry back to your hotel for bedtime, feel free to take a leisurely stroll out of the amphitheater upon the conclusion of the performance. At night, Disney's Hollywood Studios is a beautiful sight. The mix of neon and twinkling tree lights with awesome ambient music makes an incredible sensory experience when the park isn't packed full of guests. If you have a camera that can take long-exposure pictures, park icons like the Hollywood Tower Hotel, Sunset Boulevard, Hollywood Boulevard, and Mickey's Sorcerer's Hat make for great nighttime photo ops.

I hope that helps! If you should have any other questions, please feel free to send them my way and I'll be happy to help in any way that I can.

    Best regards,
    Derek
