This may be hard one... WDW Fall 2012 between the recently updated PORS or POFQ or the new Art of Animation family suites, 1st trip? Family of 4, kids 5 and 7? Cost not a factor since they will be about the same $. Benefits of each option?

Hi Diane, you're right, this is a hard one! ;) Since the Disney's Art of Animation Resort hotel is not completed yet, I really can't compare it accurately...but I'll try! Since cost is not a factor, lets go over the differences first:

Disney's Art of Animation Resort will feature: 2 separate bathrooms,  a master bedroom, 3 separate sleeping areas within the living space, which includes an "Inovabed"—an impressive piece of furniture that transforms from a generously sized dining or work table to a comfortable bed in seconds. There will be a food court, arcade and store with a feature pool and quiet pools similar to the other Value resorts.

With either Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter Resorts, you'll have only one room and everyone will be in that one room (and one bathroom). The amenities will be where you notice the differences, with Port Orleans Riverside offering a table service restaurant in addition to the food courts at both resorts. The pools at each Port Orleans resort will have water slides and you'll also have boat transportation between the two resorts and over to Downtown Disney. Other things like covered bus stops, towels at the feature pool and included mini-fridge are also part of the Moderate resort amenities.

If those added amenities over-power the separate bathrooms and bedroom, then Port Orleans is probably for you (I actually prefer French Quarter personally but love both!). If you'd prefer the space and also the excitement that comes with an all-new Disney resort, then the Art of Animation might work better for your family. I think if I had to choose, I'd go with the new resort, since the differences in amenities don't seem to trump the added space you'll enjoy at the Art of Animation.

Enjoy your vacation, whichever resort you choose! I hope I've helped a little with this tough decision!! :)
