Is May 22nd grad night? If so how will that effect our visit?

    Hi Jennifer,

Welcome to planDisney! Your Disney trip is just around the riverbend! Grad Nite is such an exciting time! As a high school teacher, I love hyping my students up for this special event. As a regular guest, it's helpful to know when Grad Nite is happening so you can plan accordingly.

As you mentioned, Grad Nite will take place at California Adventure on May 22. I checked the Hours & Events Calendar for that date, and California Adventure will close at 9:00 p.m., instead of the usual 10:00 p.m. This won't have a big impact on park hours, but expect to see lots of high school students in both parks throughout the day. Some Grad Nite ticket packages allow students to enjoy one or both parks before the special evening festivities.

Not to worry—you still have Paint the Night and Wondrous Journeys to add some sparkle to your nighttime experience at Disneyland! I recommend upgrading to a Park Hopper ticket so you can head over to Disneyland for the rest of the night. Or, if you're sticking with a one-park ticket, consider making it a Disneyland day to maximize your experience. If you are looking for a good spot to watch these night time spectaculars, I highly recommend a spot by It's a small world. This will also allow you to see the projections of  for Tapestry of Happiness.

I hope this information is helpful, Jennifer! If you have any other questions or need help planning, feel free to write back to me or one of my fellow panelists. We’re always here to sprinkle a little extra pixie dust on your Disney adventures.

    Have a wonderful trip!
