We are going in May as a family unit ie.. grandparents etc. And staying off resort. So now we are thinking about restaurants. Are there any hidden gems we might be able to try? We have done all the IT places and love BOG and CP.

It's great to see you here today at the Disney Parks Moms Panel, Shanna, and I'm so glad that you've asked about my favorite attraction at Walt Disney World Resort: the food! I really love the dining at the theme parks and Resort Hotels, and I'm on a personal mission to try every single restaurant and some of my favorites are the ones that don't often make the "must-do" lists. There are some great hidden gems to be enjoyed, and I'm happy to chat about them with you today!

Since you've already done the big Character Dining experiences, like Cinderella's Royal Table at Magic Kingdom Park, you might want to try something new like the Bon Voyage Adventure Breakfast at Trattoria al Forno at Disney's BoardWalk Inn! There are some pretty fun Disney Characters here (where else can you meet Prince Eric and Ariel together?!) and the breakfast menu is unique and delicious. If you've got a big appetite, Garden Grill Restaurant at Epcot is also a really great choice for a Character Dining meal because it's an all-you-care-to-enjoy family-style breakfast, lunch, or dinner!

Disney's Animal Kingdom has some of my favorite dining locations and I think they're pretty underrated because it's always easy for me to get a table or an advanced dining reservation when I'm there. I recommend Flame Tree Barbecue for a flavorful and filling Quick-Service meal, or swing by Eight Spoon Café for some gourmet mac and cheese. If you're looking for a Table-Service meal, Yak & Yeti Restaurant is going to be a cozy environment for you to enjoy lunch or dinner with your whole family. You can also venture out to Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge for dinner at Boma - Flavors of Africa, which is my favorite buffet at Walt Disney World Resort.

    Happy snacking, Shanna!
