It may be too early to know this, but is there a risk of overcharging a Magicband+? Can I charge Magicband+ overnight to be ready for another day at the parks, or would that fry the battery leaving it plugged in for so long?

    Hi James,

Welcome to planDisney and thank you for your question! Your vacation is so soon, how exciting! Can you feel the magic?

Sounds like you are planning to purchase MagicBand+ on this next vacation, should be a really fun addition to the trip! Disney suggests that you should charge your MagicBand+ battery until it’s at a high battery level, which means it’s showing a green animation. My suggestion would be to charge it for as long as you need to get it to its optimal battery potential.

Now, one really cool feature of MagicBand+ is that Park entry, Lightning Lane entry, Disney Resorts Collection hotel room entry/folio charges, and Disney PhotoPass will all work after you’ve used all of your battery! Say you only charge your Band for a few hours before you hit the Theme Parks, if the battery runs out, Hakuna Matata. You’ll still be able to use the normal MagicBand features, you just wouldn’t be able to use the interactive portion until the Band is charged.

Keep in mind, you’re able to see the battery status through the My Disney Experience mobile app so you can check throughout the day!

I hope this “Bit By Bryanna” is helpful as you get closer to your Walt Disney World trip. If you have any last minute planning or vacation questions, please feel free to reach out, I’m always happy to help!
