In May will I be able to use my phone (Disney app like in Disney Workd) for ticket entry to park, and access to park hopper and Genie+?

Hi Teresa! Thanks for dropping by planDisney.

We're hoping to visit in May too! I think it's going to be the perfect time of year for a Disneyland Resort vacation, and it sounds like you're eager to plan ahead, which is a great idea.

If you're familiar with Walt Disney World Resort, you'll find that Disneyland Resort operates similarly with a few small differences. The good news is that I've visited both resorts and don't find the differences to be too difficult to navigate. One difference is the apps: Disneyland Resort has its own mobile app, which you'll want to download ahead of time because My Disney Experience won't work. Once you've downloaded the app to your device, you can sign into your Disney account and link your Park Hopper admission tickets. In the lower right-hand part of the screen, you'll see three lines, which you'll want to click. This will bring up a page that includes a button that says "Tickets and Passes." Select, click the blue + on the upper right-hand side, and click "Link Tickets & Passes." Then follow the instructions to link your tickets.

After you've done that, you can use the Disneyland app on your device to enter the theme parks, mobile order, and check in for your Lightning Lane Entrances, using Genie+. It's super convenient and will save you time throughout the day. Also, you'll be able to book your Lightning Lane Entrances once you enter the parks, which is a little different from how Walt Disney World operates. I find it to be really low-stress.

Playing around in the app before arrival is my biggest tip for first-time visitors or if you haven't been in a little while. You can get a feel for the app and the layout of Disneyland Resort, use the complimentary Genie tool to help plan your visit, and more. As your visit approaches, be sure to check out the Disney Parks Blog for updates on what new things you can expect to enjoy! Disney100 Celebration at Disneyland Resort just debuted, and you won't want to miss any of the festive treats, merchandise, and experiences. My friends at planDisney say Wondrous Journeys at Disneyland Park and World of Color - One at Disney California Adventure Park are must-dos!

    Have the most magical visit.
