When is Matterhorn going to reopen? We are headed to the park for Memorial Day and hoping it will be open by then.

Hey there, hi there, Jeff! Welcome to planDisney. We are here to answer all of your planning questions!

The Matterhorn Bobsleds are just an iconic Disneyland attraction and definitely a Guest favorite. Did you know it was the very first tubular steel coaster built in the world? As you stated, the Matterhorn Bobsleds is currently closed for refurbishment and there has not been a reopening date shared. I did look at the calendar, and unfortunately, it does look like the Abominable Snowman will still be hibernating during your visit. Things could always change, so I recommend keeping your eye out for updates closer to your visit. You can do this in the Disneyland app by finding the park hours on the home screen and tapping on "All Hours >". This will take you to a calendar where you can select your desired day, and then, if you scroll past the park hours information, you will see all the attractions and locations that are closed for refurbishment.

You will be visiting right after the kick-off of the 70th Celebration, which means you will get a chance to see all the new and returning entertainment, like the Paint the Night parade. There's also a Foodie Guide available for all the limited-time treats. Be sure to check that out because there's an Abominable Snowman sipper! I think he will be going home with me on my next visit.

Jeff, thanks so much for stopping by!

Well hello there, friend! I'm Carrie, a work-from-home mom and military wife who currently calls sunny San Diego home. You'll find my family in the parks braving drops and coasters to work up our appetite to take as many snack breaks as we can. While Disneyland is our home away from home, we love trying to make a Walt Disney World Resort vacation happen at least once a year now too. All my friends know I'm the go-to for Disney advice, so I'm here to help you plan and experience the magic on your visit! Learn More About Carrie
