Hey there Ellen,
Welcome to planDisney and thanks so much for your question! I'm thrilled to hear that you're planning a trip to the Disneyland Resort in sunny California later this year.
I'm happy to share that the name on
standard theme park tickets does not determine or lock in who uses it. At the Disneyland Resort, when you first scan your ticket at the entry gate, the Cast Member will snap a quick picture of you that will be associated with your ticket for the duration of its use. This is what locks in that ticket to the ticket holder.
I should note that there are some ticket types (military tickets, some location-based promotional tickets, etc) that require additional forms of identification, but these are typically to prove eligibility for the ticket use. Though if you have a standard theme park ticket then you are all set!
Additionally, if you would like to change the name on your ticket, you can do so by
calling a Cast Member at the Ticket line who should be able to help.
Finally, since it looks like you'll be planning your trip during the spooky season, make sure to check out the
Halloween Time page to learn more about all the frightfully fun events and activities that will be happening around the Happiest Place on Earth during that time. I'd also recommend keeping an eye on the
Disney Parks Blog, which should have more information about Halloween fun posted over the summer.
Thanks again for your question, Ellen! I hope you have a wonderful trip to the Disneyland Resort.
Have a Magical Day,
Greg
