Are masks required at the parks?

Greetings from Florida, Kim! Welcome to planDisney!

Only 10 days until your magical vacation, so you know what that means - it's almost time to do the single-digit dance! It's about to really sink in that you're going to Walt Disney World!

I'm so glad you stopped by to ask about masking up in the theme parks. It can be confusing to know just what's expected now, especially when it seems like things are changing so fast. As I write this, the current face mask policy at Walt Disney World is that fully vaccinated Guests will only need to wear masks on Disney transportation, which includes buses, monorails, and the Disney Skyliner. Otherwise, face coverings are optional everywhere at Walt Disney World for Guests who are fully vaccinated. Alternatively, Guests who aren't fully vaccinated will need to wear face coverings everywhere except outdoor common areas and pool decks,. Also, Guests should not wear masks when in the water.

You can find Disney's complete face mask policy and other important information on the Know Before You Go page on the Walt Disney World website. It's a good resource for any changes that may be implemented as the situation evolves.

Kim, have you started packing yet? Hop over to the planDisney Panel Extras page for tons of advice, including a list of our Top 10 Packing Tips. Here's a teaser - resealable bags! This tip put them on my own packing list!

Meet the Panelist: Kathy, Florida

I've lived my whole life just an hour's drive from Walt Disney World, so I've been a regular visitor for as long as I can remember. Even after all these years and so many visits, I love that there's still so much to discover! Now that I'm a mom myself, seeing my favorite place through my son's eyes has given me a whole new perspective that I enjoy sharing with other parents of young children. Learn More About Kathy
