What are the mask requirements for 2 year olds? We have an opportunity to go in November. She’ll keep a mask on for about an hour at a time (work in progress), but for 2yrs are they looking for all day requirement?

Hey there, hi there, ho there, Ashley! You’re as welcome as can be to planDisney!

First off, I’m so excited for your upcoming visit to the Most Magical Place on Earth! November is a wonderful time of year to experience Walt Disney World Resort! I’m also glad you’re planning ahead by asking about the Guest requirements for face coverings. Currently, face coverings are required for all Guests ages 2 and up. You’ll need to make sure your family’s face coverings (whether disposable or reusable) follow these guidelines:

--Be made with at least two layers of breathable material
--Fully cover the nose and mouth, and secure under the chin
--Fit snugly, but comfortably, against the side of the face
--Be secured with ties or ear loops, and allow the Guest to remain hands-free

Face coverings must be worn at all times, except when Guests are eating or drinking -- Guests must also remain stationary and maintain physical distancing while doing so. I'm happy to report that there are also Relaxation Stations located inside each theme park. These Stations are the perfect spot to temporarily remove face coverings while maintaining distance from others. You can find Relaxation Stations both outdoors and indoors. They’re noted on the guide maps, so you can map your route around these special break spots.

As the mom of three Mouseketeers (ages 4, 6, and 8), I understand how daunting this may seem, especially for little ones. Aside from visiting the Relaxation Stations, I also recommend scheduling multiple snack and dining breaks throughout the day. This gives your daughter the chance to remove her mask and rest her feet while enjoying something yummy!

Before your visit, I also recommend taking a test run by visiting an outdoor mall. This way, your daughter can start getting used to wearing a face covering. My children also resisted at first, but have discovered that by wearing a mask, they can do so many more exciting things!

Last but not least, make it fun! Make a big deal about her picking out her very own Disney-themed face coverings from shopDisney.com! My daughter is obsessed with these adorable Disney Princess face masks! Not only are they comfortable, but they also don’t slip off when I’m talking! You can also purchase the Disney Cloth Face Masks inside the theme parks, or at Disney Springs. Be sure to bring a few masks for each member of your family if you won't have access to a washer and dryer during your stay. During a recent vacation, I kept my family's face masks in a wet/dry bag for easy access.

I hope this information helps, Ashley! Best wishes for a safe, memorable, pixie-dusted getaway!

    See ya’ real soon,
    Kristin
