Hi Taylor!
Welcome to planDisney, and congratulations on your recent wedding! I can't think of a better place to celebrate than at Walt Disney World Resort! When you arrive at your Disney resort or the theme parks, be sure to grab a complimentary pair of "Happily Ever After" buttons for you and your new husband to wear so that others can celebrate with you during your trip!
Taylor, I can hopefully put your mind at ease, as the last name on your theme park tickets should not matter. I was able to confirm with a Cast Member that the only time this can be an issue is if the ticket purchased requires identification - such as Disney Military Salute Tickets, Florida Resident Tickets, Annual Passes, or tickets that must be claimed at Guest Relations under your name. Standard date-based tickets do not require you to show identification at the gate, and unused tickets can even be reassigned to others after purchase if necessary.
If you haven't already done so, I'd suggest
linking your tickets to your My Disney Experience account so that they can easily be accessed with a
Disney MagicMobile pass or
MagicBand. You are also able to update your Account Settings in your MyDisney profile to your new last name through the Walt Disney World Resort website or in your My Disney Experience Mobile App. If it would help you feel more comfortable, you can always bring a copy of your marriage certificate just in case any questions or problems arise.
Before I go, I'd love to share a little date night idea that you and your husband may enjoy while on vacation.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa is home to one of my favorite places to grab a drink and a quick bite to eat -
Enchanted Rose. This lounge is absolutely gorgeous, and you actually feel like you've stepped inside a scene from Beauty and the Beast. After enjoying some drinks and food, you can explore the beautiful holiday decorations, including the
famous gingerbread house! And, of course, no evening is complete without viewing
fireworks from Magic Kingdom Park. You can catch this stunning display from the beach at the Grand Floridian. If you choose to stop by Grand Floridian during your stay, it's important to remember that
parking at the hotel is limited to those with hotel, dining, spa, or recreational reservations, which means that you would need to use
resort transportation to reach this destination.
Taylor, I hope this information is helpful and that you enjoy celebrating your happily ever after at Walt Disney World Resort! If you have any other questions, please stop by to see us again here at planDisney!
Cheers,
Kristi
